Assumptions and limitations
Uses 2026 annual federal and provincial brackets and basic personal credits, checked September 16, 2026. Assumes net income equals taxable income for credit phase-outs. Includes federal and Manitoba basic-personal-amount phase-outs, Ontario surtax and health premium. It is a simplified illustration, not a tax return or payroll calculation. It excludes CPP or QPP, EI, deductions, most credits and benefits, dividend and capital-gain rules, provincial low-income tax reductions, and other special calculations. Quebec includes the 16.5% federal abatement. Manitoba uses the frozen $47,000 / $100,000 thresholds in CRA payroll guidance and provincial guidance; CRA’s general rates page currently differs. Low-income estimates may overstate tax because provincial reductions are excluded. Taxable income less tax is not take-home pay. Actual payroll deductions, refund or balance owing may differ. Confirm an actual calculation with CRA, Revenu Québec or a qualified tax professional.
